Dr. Cory D. Couillard
Doctor of Chiropractic
Certified Athletic Trainer
Dr. Cory was raised in Taylors Falls Minnesota attended the University of Minnesota-Duluth where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training and finished his studies in Chiropractic at Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, Minnesota. He decided to attend Chiropractic School after receiving chiropractic care throughout his life.
Dr. Cory's first visit to the chiropractor was when he was 2 months old. He suffered from seizures, uncontrollable fevers, digestive problems, and sleeping disturbances. The medical system failed to provide any answers to his family of his condition. The medical system told his family "There is nothing wrong with your child". A miracle of health prevailed during sitting in the waiting room in the hospital, 2 month old Cory crying and screaming. A stranger sitting next to his mother suggested taking him to the chiropractor. Cory's mother and father were desperate for answers and solutions to there third child’s health conditions. Cory's parents took him to the local Doctor of Chiropractic and found the first bone of his spine (the atlas bone) pressing into his spinal cord, his lifeline of his body. Chiropractic adjustments released the crushing pressure off the spinal cord and brainstem and allowed health and healing to occur in his body. A true healing miracle occurred.
Dr. Cory received chiropractic care throughout high school and college. He found a special interest in sports medicine and received his Bachelors of Science from the University of Minnesota- Duluth in Athletic Training in 2002. During his undergraduate training he saw the effects of Chiropractic care on performance and injury prevention of individuals in the industrial, college, high school, and semi pro arenas. In Chiropractic school Cory was fascinated with Chiropractic philosophy; that a person could heal from within without the use of drugs, surgery, and harmful side-effects. In 2006 he was invited to perform his internship at Yachter Family Chiropractic Center in Lake Mary, Florida one the largest Chiropractic clinic in the United States. Dr. Cory was truly blessed to have had this opportunity and incredible learning experiences that accompany it. In Lake Mary, Dr. Cory observed and participated in the care of 1,500-2,000 patients each week. This experience rapidly accelerated his learning rate compared to the average Chiropractor who usually cares for approximately 100 patients each week. While working with Dr. Dan Yachter, the owner and founder of Yachter Family Chiropractic Center, Dr. Cory had the opportunity to interact with a large diversity of people. He received advanced training in the area of family care, maternity care, neonatal care, pediatrics, radiology, geriatrics, occupation and auto accident injuries, spinal reconstructive care, nutritional counseling, and chronic and difficult cases. During his internship, Dr. Cory was extremely active in the community, where he conducted work injury prevention and ergonomic evaluations for Walmart, Target, and Sam’s Club.
Dr. Cory currently works with 7 community gyms: Lifetime fitness (Bloomington, Eagan, Lakeville), Curves (Eagan-East, Eagan-West, Apple Valley, and Lakeville) Dr. Couillard also performs health, injury, and performance consulting, as well as nutritional counseling, and time and stress management workshops for local businesses and corporations.
